Think about crime in the United States. It's easy to think New York, one of the largest cities, would be dangerous. This, however, is not correct. Crime rate in New York is 18 % safer than other states. 364/100,000 violent crimes in this city occur, making it slightly lower than the 366/100,000 national average. However, this doesn't make New York a totally safe place.
Over time, crime has increased significantly. Murder and shooting counts were at their highest total in 2021. “It’s not just the law, you know, it’s people thinking that they can get away with whatever they want,” Mayor Adams claims. Media conclusively agrees that Adams understands this crisis but isn’t acting fast enough.
I conclude this post with updates on New Yorks present issues and crimes from Mayor Adams. “The flow of guns on our street, we’ve moved 2,600 since I’ve been mayor or more, yet the flow continues to come. Younger and younger – a young child brought two nine-millimeter guns to school the other day in their book bags. These guns are endless on our street. I’ve never witnessed anything like this before in my professional career.”
